The Kinds of Exercises you Need

There are many kinds of exercises you can do depending on what you aim to do. A sprinter will have their own specific set of exercises while a swimmer will have another set. For a normal person with a job wanting to exercise to stay healthy and fit, two basic kinds of exercise sets are usually recommended. They happen to be:

Strength Training

The exercises involved in this set are performed to train the muscles. You need to exert your muscles via both push and pull exercises to the point that they are strained to a normal degree. Doing so not only strengthens your muscles but also your joints and your bones. It increases strength, flexibility and gives shape to your muscles. Training all muscular areas is key here.

Aerobic Exercises

Aerobic exercises are all about stamina. They require pushing your stamina, and your circulatory system, to a point where you run out of breath. Aerobic exercises help you increase your stamina and also improve your circulatory system. By pushing your blood vessels, you decrease the amount of fats in them and the blockages as well, making your heart and circulatory system healthier.

How Often Should You Exercise

According to the experts, both strength training and aerobic exercises need to be performed two to three times every week. You can alternate between them to ensure that you exercise at least five times every week, with the remaining two days being left for resting. For strength training, you need to exercise for sessions ranging from forty-five to sixty minutes, with five minutes for warming up. For aerobic exercises, you can take as much time as you want. However, for a good exercising regime that provides benefits to your body, a minimum of at least 150 minutes of aerobic exercises is recommended.

In the remaining two days of rest, you need to make sure that you still remain active. The more you sit or lie about, the less active your metabolic system becomes. Therefore, try to be as active as you can during your resting days, since it will keep your body prepared for the exercise and activity that’s to come. By following this regime you can ensure a healthy and active lifestyle. It will take time and effort, but it’s needed for you to improve your standard of living.
